Kim Neal – Boot Camp Coach

Being the youngest of 5 kids and the only girl, Kim was active in sports from a young age.  A tomboy at heart, she played soccer, softball, volleyball, and did everything her brothers did.

Soccer has continued to be Kim’s sport of choice and she is active on a handful of indoor and outdoor teams.  While in college at Cal Poly, SLO Kim discovered running. Still a big part of her life, she participates regularly in marathons, half marathons and more recently, triathlons.

As the wife of an ultra runner and mother of  two girls ages 8 and 6, being active and healthy is very important to Kim  for both physical and emotional reasons, as well as to show her girls that women can be strong and healthy.

Kim started participating in the Boot Camp program over a year ago.  It has transformed her body in ways she had never  imagined.  She says, “My core and legs are so much stronger and my running has improved dramatically.  I am such a believer that I decided to make my passion my work.”  Kim earned her NESTA Personal Fitness Trainer Certification and soon after became a LiveFit Boot Camp trainer.  “There is nothing more rewarding than helping people meet their fitness goals and seeing results!”

Kim is currently a substitute trainer in Healdsburg, CA

Sean Humle – Boot Camp Coach

Sean was born and raised in Chico, California, and grew up playing a variety of sports. Baseball and soccer were his main focus, earning him accolades as his high school “Athlete of the Year” his Senior year despite suffering a severely broken leg his Sophomore year. It was this injury that first inspired him to learn more about the body. He moved to Santa Rosa to play soccer at SRJC, fell in love with the area, and never left. He was a member of the back-to-back state champion SRJC Soccer teams of 2001 and 2002, and he was on the path to becoming an athlete professionally until the full effects of his high school injuries became apparent. This spurred his interest even further into all-around health and fitness. Although he originally planned to study sports medicine, Sean realized his passion was helping people prevent injuries as opposed to treating them after they had occurred. He became a masseuse in 2002 and decided to make fitness a profession in 2008.

Over the years, Sean has learned many diverse and effective modes of training, from the fast paced muscle-shredding plyometric style and sport-inspired exercise, to the more mind-body oriented flowing styles of movement like Yoga, Tai Chi, and Pilates. LiveFit was a perfect match for him because he likes the variety it offers, promoting the change in routine he sees as being so important to the success of his clients. “I love helping people who want to make themselves better, for the sake of being healthy and not just for competition. I couldn’t imagine a better way to make a living than helping people on the path to better health and better lives.”

Sean has a love of travel, organic gardening and cooking, and has a constantly expanding interest in healthy living through nutrition, diet and exercise. He enjoys all outdoor activities, particularly kite surfing, soccer, golf, and hiking. He plans on going back to school to obtain further degrees in nutrition and psychology.

Mick Harrison – Boot Camp Coach

Growing up in Darwin, Australia, Mick was involved from an early age with swimming, soccer, rugby, martial arts, tennis and practically anything that involved a scoreboard. But it was swimming that led him to be regularly answering the 5:30 am call of, “Lets go, thrill seekers!” from his coach, and training 40 hours a week in the pool, leading to medals at the Australian National Championships in backstroke and butterfly, and state swimming records that still stand today.

After moving to Auckland, New Zealand, Mick turned to rugby and began a love for the game that saw him play semi-professional in Australia and Great Britain, until a serious shoulder injury ended that level of his career.

Being introduced to LiveFit as a way of getting in shape for an upcoming rugby season, he was immediately struck by the high energy, upbeat training atmosphere and the similarities to professional pre-season high intensity training clinics. After achieving results first hand, Mick decided that he too wanted to be a part of the LiveFit team. After training directly with Jaron for six months, Mick has been leading Boot Camps at the Santa Rosa Finley location… where his 5:30am campers hear the same, “Let’s go, thrill seekers!” call to arms he heard many, many years ago.

Mick enjoys helping his clients achieve their health and fitness goals, but also loves identifying and challenging the athlete within ALL his clients, of any age, and all fitness backgrounds.

Mick Lives in Santa Rosa and can be found most days passing, kicking or playing with one of many different shaped balls with his 8 and 11 year old sons, or training to squeeze out one more season of rugby with the Santa Rosa Rugby Club.

“Let’s Go, Thrill Seekers!!!”

Mick is currently teaches the 5:30am, 6:45am, 9:00am class at Finley Park and the 6:00pm class at Ursuline HS

Rick Vacek – Boot Camp Coach and Sonoma County Membership Director

Rick was passionate about sports and fitness from an early age as he grew up in Brookfield, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago. His backyard was home to countless baseball and football games, and in the winter he and his cousin would play hockey in the basement for hours. It wasn’t long before Rick decided to make sports his career path but, realizing that his chances of becoming a pro athlete weren’t the best, he decided to pursue sports journalism. He worked for various newspapers during his teens and was named Sports Editor of the University of Illinois paper, The Daily Illini, even though he was only a freshman.

Shortly after graduating with his degree in communications, Rick decided it was time for an adventure and, ahem, a warmer climate, so he applied to newspapers in California, Arizona and Florida. He landed a job covering high school sports for the San Jose Mercury News and three years later was on the Oakland A’s beat, traveling with the team and seeing the country. But his original goal — to be a sports editor of a large newspaper — burned ever stronger inside him, so he decided to pursue that path and eventually was hired to be Executive Sports Editor of The Press Democrat in Santa Rosa. He later managed the sports departments of the Los Angeles Daily News, Fresno Bee and Kansas City Star, then moved into the online world and was Executive Editor of The Sports Xchange, a sports content provider.

Through it all, he maintained his equally fervent passion for a healthy lifestyle, but he really got serious about it in 2011 and decided to get in the best shape of his life. He had lost 30 pounds a little more than a year later when he started attending a LiveFit camp, and he took off from there — literally. At his first camp he couldn’t even run a quarter-mile without stopping to catch his breath; now he regularly runs five miles. He decided to transition from the media to the fitness industry, and in November he got his personal trainer certification and later became a LiveFit trainer. Rick continues to feed his love of baseball by playing in the Redwood Empire Baseball League, and he’s game for just about any other sport, especially golf and racquetball. His goal for the remainder of his career is simple: to help as many people with their fitness as he can.

Rick currently teaches the 5:30am class in Kenwood, CA

Greg Good – Boot Camp Coach

Greg was born in Marin County, CA and has spent the majority of his life there. Growing up, he spent some of his childhood in the Florida Keys and San Luis Obispo, California but always seemed to make his way back to the Bay Area. Greg has always been passionate about sports (baseball, football and basketball included) but was mostly drawn towards the sport of boxing. What started off as throwing on boxing gloves and messing around with friends eventually developed into a deep love and passion for the sport. Greg made his way into a boxing gym in San Luis Obispo and through time developed basic boxing skills. In his late teens, he began boxing competitively out of the Novato Boxing Club and participated in several tournaments such as Golden Gloves.

After a short break from boxing, Greg was once again drawn back to the sport and began training in Vallejo. After a few years there he moved to the Straight Forward Boxing Club in San Francisco where he finished out his career. While working alongside amateur and professional athletes, Greg continued to fight in tournaments and local bouts. He was invited to train with many local pros, including some World Champions, as their chief sparring partner in preparation for their bouts.

Greg became well versed in the underlying, essential training aspects of the sport such as switching weight classes while maintaining and building strength, speed and endurance. Soon Greg’s love for boxing grew into his passion for helping others train and he began helping his coach by running classes at the gym, working the mitts with promising amateur fighters and using his knowledge to help them prepare for upcoming bouts. Greg is a licensed U.S.A. Boxing Coach and N.A.S.M certified personal trainer. He found his true passion in the training aspect and has been working with people ever since.

Greg currently teaches the 6:00pm class in Novato, CA
